BUILDING CODES & SYSTEMS SITE PLAN PROJECT
The site plan indicates patterns dealing with the sun, wind, traffic as well as the topography, propoerty lines, and other information. Three problem areas were identified with a focus on problem area A. Problem area A is in need of a sitting area for a large number of people. Also, the equipment in this location is visible from other buildings around campus and takes away from the character of the building. Therefore, it needs to be visually blocked. In order to meet both needs, a seating area will be located in front of the equipment. Hedges will be placed around the seating area to visually block the equipment and provide privacy for those using this space. The outdoor space includes faux wood benches, planters, three trees and a waterfall feature which acts not only as a visual element, but as white noise. All of the plants are evergreen and therefore require little maintenance and sun, which is ideal for this location. In addition, brick and concrete are used to keep the design cohesive with the building.
